TORONTO – An elderly man and woman are in serious condition after a fire broke out in an apartment building in Scarborough Tuesday night.
Fire crews were called to 3947 Lawrence Ave E., near Orton Park Rd., around 7:30 p.m. where they attended to a two-alarm blaze.

The fire was quickly extinguished and TTC buses were called to the scene as shelter for the residents of the building, who were evacuated.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
