Joelle learns more about Pendleton products from Bruce, the owner of The Trading Post

Today’s Saskatoon Style with The Trading Post was right up my alley.

I immediately noticed the beautiful blanket that Bruce brought into the studio, and I appreciate that there is an indigenous history behind the Pendleton products. I had no idea that these products had been on the market for over 140 years; obviously this speaks for itself!

The nice thing about Pendleton products is that it ranges from the more traditional to the modern look, thus anyone can enjoy the rich culture and look great while doing it too.

From what Bruce told me, they are getting ladies apparel soon, and I am definitely planning on meandering over to the Trading Post to check it out when they do.

A cardio workout leaves Melissa breathless, but for a good cause

We are constantly being reminded of the scary statics in regards to child obesity. If current trends continue, by 2040 up to 70 per cent of adults will be either overweight or obese. But as we learned today there are many things we can do early on to help.

One thing I found really impressive is that Spin 4 Kids helps fund fitness programs that children may not otherwise have a chance to participate in. When I was in school physical education usually meant team sports and some children may not enjoy them and in turn not enjoy being active.

But this type of programming involves activity like zumba and wall climbing that may get kids excited about moving. A Spin-o-thon is a great way to raise money while setting an example that exercise can be fun!

Jessica discovers the Little Bird Cafe

I have been searching high and low for a spot in the city that sells homemade macaroons, and I’ve finally found one – the Little Bird Pâtisserie & Café!

I tried the vanilla and strawberry flavours and the only word I can use to describe them is, “melt-in-your-mouth-amazing.” They were worth the wait.

This is a cafe unlike any other in the city, and definitely worth checking out for some homemade French pastries. It’s located in the up and coming Riversdale neighbourhood inside Anthology with its own side entrance on Ave. B.

After you’re done at the cafe, walk around and enjoy the neighbourhood … I know I will!

Kevin likes nothing better than finding a new musical style

Kat Danser has a musical style that shoves me away from my usual and plants me down in the Louisiana backwater; this is not a daunting change, but a welcome one, as her tones calm while keeping the foot tapping.
