Clean-up efforts are underway after fuel spilled into a Langley river following a truck crash on Friday.
Metro Vancouver officials say a small amount of fuel leaked into Little Campbell River, but said the waterway wouldn’t be impacted.
However, residents are concerned about the ecologically sensitive habitat, which is home to beavers and other wildlife.
The river is also an important habitat for salmon.
Officials plan to meet Monday with members of the city and environmental experts to discuss the incident.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but park users say speed and heavy truck traffic along 16th Avenue has become a problem.
