Candles will be burning in the wind this summer for Elton John who headlines on the Plains of Abraham July 9 as part of the 44th Quebec Summer Festival.
The singer-songwriter-pianist, 64, will perform songs from throughout his five-decade career at the big annual Quebec City outdoor summer show.
Dominique Goulet, festival program director, said he believed that the concert will be a "highlight of the festival."
Other artists confirmed for the festival include the American blues-rock band The Black Keys, Thomas Fersen, Cage the Elephant and Girl Talk.
Other performers in the lineup for the 44th Summer Festival of Quebec, which runs this year from July 7 to 17, will be announced April 27.
John will be accompanied by his five musicians – guitarist Davey Johnstone, bassist Bob Birch, percussionist John Mahon, drummer Nigel Olsson and keyboardist Kim Bullard.
John continues to draw big crowds after a nearly 50-year career.
He has sold over 250 million and performed over 3000 concerts worldwide.
Last year, Elton John toured with his band as well as alongside Billy Joel and finally with Ray Cooper.
