The Saskatchewan Abilities Council has suffered a major setback, following an overnight robbery.
Storage trailers which housed about $10,000 worth of supplies, including brand new laptops and cell phones, were broken into.
The supplies were for a new centre being launched within the next 6 to 8 weeks, which would provide daytime activities for people with disabilities.

“It’s disappointing and disheartening to think that there’s someone out there who saw it fit to make a conscious decision to break in and steal items that were for providing services to our most vulnerable population – people with disabilities,” said Tanja Ignatiuk, program coordinator at the Regina branch of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council.
The matter is now under investigation by the Regina Police Service.
In the mean time, Saskatchewan Abilities Council is welcoming donations. The organization is still hoping to launch their new daytime program in about two months.
