Memorial for Kelowna murder victim

KELOWNA — It has been two weeks since Kelowna’s first murder of the year.

Police tell Global Okanagan they’re making progress in the case but there have been few details released about the investigation, including the search for a suspect and the type of weapon used in the attack.

Those who knew 32-year-old Chris Ausman are still coming to grips with his sudden death, but are continuing to pay their respects.

A memorial has been set up at the scene of the crime with wreaths, flowers and heartfelt messages.

Ausman was killed in the early morning hours on Jan. 25.

His body was found on a sidewalk in Kelowna’s Rutland neighbourhood.
