CALGARY – Police are pleading for tips in a hit and run on Wednesday that left a 19-year-old fighting for his life.
It happened at the intersection of Anderson Road and 14 Street S.W. around 8:30p.m.
A Hyundai Accent carrying the 19-year-old and his father was travelling eastbound on Anderson when it stopped to make a left turn onto 14 Street.
However, the Hyundai was rear-ended by another vehicle, which pushed it into oncoming traffic.
It was then t-boned by a westbound Dodge Durango travelling through the intersection.
Police say the car that initially rear-ended the Hyundai took off. It’s believed it was a 1997 – 2003 Dodge Durango or Dodge Dakota with an extended cab.
On Friday, police released a picture of the type of vehicle they’re searching for with the hope it will jog someone’s memory.
The colour of the truck is unknown. It will have noticeable damage to the front area.
The 19-year-old in the Accent received critical injuries from the crash, while his father and the 29-year-old driver of the Durango suffered only minor injuries
