TORONTO – The Greater Toronto Area, including the City of Toronto, remains under a deep freeze as the wind chill continues to hover below -20 degrees Celsius Tuesday.
Very cold temperatures and strong winds have caused wind chill values to reach the -30s this morning.
Toronto’s high will be -14 with tonight’s low expected to go down to -21.
Environment Canada’s wind chill warning remains in effect for all of southern Ontario.
The temperature will improve somewhat this afternoon but is expected to return to near -30 or colder again tonight.
The frigid weather will persist through Wednesday, before a slow warming trend finally arrives later this week.
Gusty winds and blowing snow may also still be a factor in some areas in the GTA today and Wednesday.
