EDMONTON – A man wanted in connection with a New Year’s Day shooting in central Edmonton has turned himself in to police.

Earlier this week, Canada-wide warrants were issued for Luqman Jama Osman for numerous firearms related offences.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says the 24-year-old is a suspect in a non-injury shooting which occurred at the Ethiopian-Canadian Community Association on Jan. 1.

Police were called to the building, located at 105 Avenue and 115 Street, around 5:00 a.m. after several shots were fired both inside and outside the building. No one was injured in the shooting.

Police say Osman, who was accompanied by a lawyer, turned himself into police on Saturday.
