Building an Olympic village: Sochi then and now

Many of the venues for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics were built specifically for the games.

As this set of historical satellite images shows, the area has gone from farmland to Olympics hub in just a few years, since it was announced as the host city in 2007.
