WINNIPEG – Southern Manitoba is in for another icy blast of winter Tuesday and Wednesday.
Environment Canada issued a blowing snow warning and a wind chill warning for Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
“Winds will increase to 40 km/h gusting to 60 km/h overnight throughout the Red River Valley,” Environment Canada said in an email alert. “Combined with the freshly fallen snow in the area, widespread blowing snow with visibilities below 800 metres is expected. Visibilities will begin to improve Wednesday morning as the winds diminish.”
The temperature overnight is expected to dip to about -25 C. But as the wind increases, the wind chill value will plummet as low as -45. Environment Canada says it won’t get much warmer throughout the day Wednesday.
