Family Day: What’s open and what’s closed

Since 2008, Ontario has celebrated Family Day on the third Monday of February; this year, it’s Feb. 21.

Scarborough Town Centre

All LCBO and Beer Store locations

All Toronto Public Library branches

Most grocery stores including No Frills, Metro, and Loblaws

All banks

All schools

City of Toronto offices

The Toronto Stock Exchange

What’s open?

Toronto Eaton Centre (with reduced hours of 10-6)

Most of the stores along downtown Yonge street

Pacific Mall

Ontario Science Centre, CN Tower, Casa Loma, etc.

Most federal government offices

How do I get around?

The TTC will operate on a holiday schedule that’s similar to Sunday service, so check schedules before heading out

What to do?

The city of Toronto has events planned from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. across the city that include music, food and entertainment:

Downtown: Fort York

North York: Mel Lastman Square

Scarborough: Albert Campbell Square

Etobicoke: Colonel Samuel Smith Park
