SASKATOON – Blue Rodeo frontman joined the Saskatoon Blades for a skate in the Bridge City on Sunday afternoon.

The Blades partnered up with the Lawson Heights Community Association to hold the event at the St. George School outdoor rink.

Festivities began with the boys in blue playing a game of shinny with special guest Jim Cuddy.

Long before becoming a legendary Canadian musician, Cuddy was a hockey player.

“Now that I’ve sort of let it be known that I like to play hockey, I get opportunities like this to play with junior teams, last week we played at the Saddledome, you just never know what’s going to come up,” said Cuddy.

After the game, hockey enthusiasts were welcomed onto the ice to meet and skate over a fun filled afternoon.

Blue Rodeo plays at TCU Place on Monday.
