More than 70 distressed pets were rescued from a house in Elrose Wednesday.
The pets – 64 cats, a dog, an iguana, and seven turtles – were assessed by a veterinarian and removed o “protect their health and well-being,” the Saskatchewan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) said in a press release Friday.
The animals are now under the care of a veterinarian at the Saskatoon SPCA.
The investigation into the case continues, the SPCA said.
Elrose is 160 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon by vehicle.
