Bomb threat closes LaurenHill Academy

MONTREAL, Que. – A bomb threat forced the closing of a high school in St. Laurent on Thursday morning, but police said there was no evidence that students or staff were in danger.

LaurenHill Academy, on Côte Vertu Rd., was closed after a staff member came in to find a message on an answering machine saying there was a bomb in the building.

School officials decided to keep students home for the day as police investigated the threat.

A search of the exterior and interior of the building revealed nothing out of the ordinary, Montreal police Constable Daniel Lacoursière said.

Investigators are trying to trace the source of the phone call in hopes of identifying the person or persons responsible for the threat, he added.
