Coquihalla Highway re-opened southbound from Merritt to Exit 202

The Coquihalla Highway is now open again from Merritt to Exit 202. It was closed earlier due to an accident.

Drivers were advised to take Highway 8 or Highway 1 as an alternate route.

There have been a number of incidents on the Coquihalla Highway lately. Road conditions are treacherous and drivers are urged to slow down and make sure they have proper equipment and snow tires. It is also recommended to have a kit in your vehicle in case you need to spend some time on the highway due to an accident or back-up.
