CHARLOTTETOWN – It will cost more all two-axle vehicles and motorcycles to cross the Confederation Bridge between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick in 2011.
Transport Canada announced approval Wednesday of the 2011 round trip toll rates for vehicles using the bridge, effective Jan. 1.
The cost for each two-axle vehicle will be $43.25 next year, an increase of 75 cents per vehicle from the present rate of $42.50.
Motorcycles will see an increase of 25 cents to $17.25.
There will be no change for each additional axle for larger trucks, which remains at $7 per additional axle.
The cost for cyclists remains at $8 and pedestrians rates stay the same at $4.
