One person is dead after a collision near Southey at approximately 7:45 Friday morning.

RCMP say a southbound car lost control on highway six about ten kilometres south of the community, and struck an oncoming minivan. The driver of the van, a 57-year-old man, was pronounced dead in hospital. A 30-year-old woman suffered unknown injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, no names have been released. Southey RCMP continue to investigate.
