Fire on Austin Street in Winnipeg under investigation: officials

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) said crews were at the scene of a residential fire on Saturday afternoon.
Crews responded to a fire in a two-and-a-half-storey residential building in the 200 block of Austin Street North, at 4:45 p.m.

The cause of the fire, officials said, is under investigation. The building is said to have sustained fire, water, and smoke damage but no injuries were reported.

The fire was declared under control about half an hour later.The city’s Emergency Social Services team was deployed to assist displaced residents in finding temporary accommodations.
