Saskatoon fire engulfs attached garage of Taylor Street East home

On Monday, Saskatoon fire crews remained a property in the 4000 block of Taylor Street where a serious fire caused major damage causing sections of the roof over the attached garage and home to collapse. The cause of the fire is being investigated. – Mar 11, 2024

A home in the 4000 block of Taylor Street East in Saskatoon was engulfed in flames early Monday morning.

Fire crews said when they arrived flames were visible through the roof of the building.

Utilities were shut down for safety reasons.

The roof over the attached garage collapsed around 6:25 a.m.

The Saskatoon Fire Department said the fire was accidental, caused by a malfunction of an electrical component.

The damage is estimated to be $200,000.
