Edmonton – The Major Collision Investigation Section of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is looking for a possible witness to a fatal hit-and-run that happened in downtown in early December.
On Dec. 2, a 25-year-old man was struck and killed by a white van in the area of 105 Avenue and 102 Street before the van fled the scene.
The Wabasca resident died three days later in hospital.
EPS was able to locate the white minivan, but are still looking for the driver.
Police believe a woman was at the scene and may have witnessed the hit-and-run.
EPS describes the potential witness as Aboriginal, between 20 to 35 years old, with average build and dark medium length hair. At the time of the collision she was wearing glasses, a black sweatshirt with a white Adidas symbol on the front, a white winter jacket with a hoodie and was carrying a small black backpack.
Police want to speak to the woman.
