Crash near Chestermere leaves driver with critical injuries

CALGARY- A young man had to be flown to hospital in critical condition, following a crash near Chestermere on Wednesday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., a car heading eastbound on Highway 564 ran a stop sign, and was hit by a large truck near Highway 9.

STARS was called to the scene, and airlifted the driver of the car to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The highway was shut down while RCMP investigated.
