He died from his injuries sustained in the shooting, Chakravarthy said.

Police said the investigation has revealed that the shooting occurred on the roadway on Battleford Road “during the rush hour period.” Chakravarthy called it a “very crowded area.”

Two male suspects were seen fleeing the area on foot, police said. No other suspect information or detail was released.

Chakravarthy said there is a heavy police presence in the area as officers try to obtain video footage from residents’ door cameras or vehicle dashcams and any potential witnesses who may have seen something during the busy time of day.
