Assiniboine River trail closes for repairs

Repairing damage sustained during the 2011 flood will close the Assiniboine Riverwalk in December and January. Global News

WINNIPEG – The Assiniboine Riverwalk will be closed starting Monday for riverbank repairs from the train bridge near The Forks to the Manitoba Legislative Building.

The high speed of water travelling down the river during the 2011 flood damaged the riprap that protects the trail, the city said in a news release.
