Two people have died in an accident west of Cranbrook.

Their identities have not been released at this time.

Investigators believe a SUV crossed the centre line and slammed into a pickup truck. The force of the crash drove the SUV on to a concrete safety barrier.

Highway 3/95 was closed for hours due to the crash.

Cpl. Chris Newel from the Kimberley RCMP says the crash was near Moyie.

Two survivors are in hospital being treated for injuries, but it is not known how badly they are hurt.
