A 24-year-old Calgary woman is dead after being struck by a suspected drunk driver behind the wheel of a pickup truck near the Siksika reserve.
Gleichen RCMP say the woman was walking west on Highway 901 near Range Road 24 on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. when she was struck from behind by a pickup truck and killed.
The 26-year-old driver was arrested for impaired driving causing death along with refusal to offer a breath sample.
Police say he is from the Siksika First Nation.
