About This Charity
Peterborough Humane Society advocates for animals by improving their lives, alleviating suffering, rescuing, providing shelter, healing, facilitating adoption and reducing pet overpopulation. We are the largest animal shelter in Peterborough County and the only open admission shelter. Our new Care Centre helps more pets get & stay healthy; find their perfect people and continue the cycle of health and happiness together. This helps make the community happier and healthier by bringing new jobs, national attention and new resources to the City of Peterborough, Peterborough County, the surrounding region and beyond for generations to come. To date $10 million has been raised to reach our $13 million goal.
