Simon Fraser University’s Department of English invites you to a reading & launch event by Sam Wiebe, the 2023 Ellen & Warren Tallman writer-in-residence. The event takes place on Friday, October 13th (7–10 PM) at SFU’s Harbour Centre campus (room 1400-1410). Please join us for a reading followed by a Q & A featuring Sam Wiebe. After the talk, enjoy a reception with light refreshments and delicious treats. Sam Wiebe’s Bio Sam Wiebe is the award-winning author of the Wakeland novels, one of the most authentic and acclaimed detective series in Canada, including Invisible Dead, Cut You Down, Hell and Gone, and the latest, Sunset and Jericho. Wiebe’s other books include Never Going Back, Last of the Independents, and the Vancouver Noir anthology, which he edited. His work has won the Crime Writers of Canada award and the Kobo Emerging Writers prize, and been shortlisted for the Edgar, Hammett, Shamus, and City of Vancouver book prizes. COVID Protocols Mask-wearing in indoor spaces is recommended at SFU campuses. Hand sanitizer will be available at the event.
