Little Mountain Brass Band has been literally blowing their many horns,for 30+ years, playing a wide variety of music in many settings . In our next concert, Little Mountain presents “Folk Festival”. Repertoire includes Australia’s famed “Waltzing Matilda”, songs from South Africa (orchestrated by a band member) and a newly commissioned piece (arranged by Vancouver’s own, highly regarded Fred Stride). Perhaps most poignantly, Little Mountain will perform “Finlandia”-composed by Sibelius (1899); effectively a nationalistic call for Russia to keep its hands off Finland-need we say more?
