The Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra will perform works from three beloved names in orchestral music for its final major concerts of the 2021/2022 season, the first full season with live performances since before the COVID-19 pandemic. SPO music director Yariv Aloni will conduct the concerts on June 11 in Metchosin and June 12 in Sooke. The orchestra will perform: Holst’s Somerset Rhapsody, op. 21 Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A, K622 Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 in G, op. 88 The Mozart concerto will feature up-and-coming clarinetist Alex Chernata one of the finalists of the SPO Don Chrysler Concerto Competition a few years back.
