Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver & Lipont Gallery present 2019 Bridges of Friendship Exhibition – A Showcase Portraying the Multicultural Landscape Reception: Wednesday, October 2nd 2019 starting at 6:00pm Exhibition: September 28 – October 26, 2019 Monday – Friday: 10am – 5pm Weekends by appointment Lipont Gallery, 4211 No. 3 Road, Richmond BC V6X2C3 Bridges of Friendship is an annual exhibition organized by the Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver in collaboration with a local arts and cultural organization every year. In 2019, the exhibition is co-presented by the Consulate and Lipont Gallery. Fifteen artists, Andrés Salaz, Ari de la Mora, Carolina de la Cajiga, Jeanne Krabbendam, Jennie Wang Catton, Jolayne Devente, Josué González, Melanie Ellery, Miriam Aroeste, Olga Rybalko, Othón Telléz, Pepe Hidalgo, Richard Kent, Roy Hoh and Wan Li Zhang were invited to showcase their artworks. The sub-theme of the exhibition is My Visual Reality & Passion for Abstraction. The purpose of the exhibition is to bring together artists of diverse cultural backgrounds with the influences that come from different parts of the world in order to showcase the wide repertoire of local contemporary visual art scene, to enrich Richmond’s multicultural landscape and to create lasting ties between communities and visitor of all ages. Free demonstration during Culture Days Painting the Human Face: Features and Expressions by artist Ari de la Mora Sunday September 29, 2019 11am – 4pm free admission Artist Ari de la Mora will give a family-friendly painting demo “Painting the Human Face – Features and Expressions” on Sunday September 29 from 11am to 4pm during Culture Days in conjunction with the exhibition. Visitors of all ages are welcome. Ari De La Mora is a self-taught figurative painter with a strong influence of the female portrait, she reflects a classical and modern interpretations mixed with cultural themes and symbols. “People act a source of inspiration with the stories permeating from their eyes either in the past or in the present.” The opening reception event is sponsored by Old Abbey Ales and Cámara Nacional de la Industria Tequilera – Tequileros.
