INFUSION YA Book Festival

INFUSION YA Book Festival 2019 is a multi-day book festival taking place from July 12 – 13, 2019. We are looking at an expected audience of 150-plus who will come together for the first ever young adult (ages 13-25) literary festival in B.C. Guests will be transported to the magical and adventurous world of young adult literature. Featuring an array of local, international, and diverse talent such as Sabina Khan (The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali), Nafiza Azad (The Candle and The Flame), Tanya Boteju (Kings, Queens, and Inbetweens), Rachel Lynn Solomon (You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone) The festival will have five main components to it: 1. Author Signings 2. Book Discussions 3. Book Readings (First chapter or so of a new novel read by author) 4. Afternoon Activities (yoga break, attendee quizzes, etc.) 5. Vendors/Exhibitors The objective of Infusion is to bring the various young bookworms of British Columbia, and Canada together for a weekend of fun, and adventure. We want lasting friendships to be made and give these readers a space where they can talk about their favourite books/authors/characters with passion without feeling judged or scared of ridicule. At the end of the festival we want them to walk away with a sense of belonging. We want them to walk away with the experience of their young lives, and them wishing the festival was longer. We want them to walk away with excitement and a renewed passion for reading, and a love of books. We want them to walk away ready to come back next year with even more gusto!
