Surrey House Concert presenting the Genesis Trio (Clarinet/Viola/Piano)

We at Music Friends (www.mymusicfriends.com) are excited to introduce our audiences to the Genesis Trio, featuring clarinetist Jonathan Lopez, violist Nina Weber, and pianist Markus Masaites. They are one of the brightest young student ensembles currently at the UBC School of Music, with huge potential for successful professional careers, which we hope to help them launch with these debut concerts in our series. The Genesis Trio very quickly made a splash this year by winning the local Friends of Chamber Music competition, and being accepted into the Audience Engagement Intensive summer training program at Carnegie Hall in New York. For their Music Friends debut, they will present one of the few masterworks specially written for this combination of instruments, Max Bruch’s Eight Pieces for Clarinet, Viola, and Piano, along with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Trio No. 4(which is often heard with cello instead of viola) on two evenings in two different locations, once at UBC and once in North Surrey. 7:00pm: Doors open. 7:30pm – 8:30pm: Performance, with brief spoken introductions for each piece 8:30pm – 9:30pm: Mingling over complimentary wine and snacks Tickets: http://www.mymusicfriends.com Location: a living room in Surrey (Fraser Heights area).
