Alex Dee – Keep Shining Champagne Celebration

On February 28, Kirsten & Boris Danyliuk, The Village Idiots and the Pyramid Cabaret present Keep Shining Champagne Celebration, a benefit in honour of Alex “Dee” Danyliuk. Proceeds go to The Alex Danyliuk Foundation whose goal is to raise $50,000 and give out $2,200/year in scholarships over 22 years to young people passionate about and pursuing music studies. Nearly 40 local musicians will participate including The Revival, a special Champagne All-Star Band, Wreckin ‘So, The Simpletones and the Max Osawa Jazz Ensemble, plus solo acts Jamie Buckboro, Matthew Zelich, Curtis Newton and Bobby Desjarlais. Alex was a passionate drummer, musician and founding member of Winnipeg band The Revival. He passed away on April 12, 2013 at the age of 22 from Sudden Cardiac Death due to Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. Alex’s 28th or Champagne Birthday would have been Feb. 28, 2019.
