Our event is a 24-hour hockey game to raise funds in support of the Matt Cook Foundation. The game pits Edges instructors’ expertise (and age) against our young power skating students ranging in age from Learn to Hockey to Midget. Our instructors have donated their time during planning and to play the game, for 24 hours! The Canadian Athletic Club has donated the ice and arena staff for the entire 24-hour period, and participants will pay an entry fee in addition to obtaining pledges in the community. Twenty-two hours of instructors versus students, an hour celebrity game versus the instructors and a final hour of sledge hockey game of instructors, top pledge earner and sledge hockey players in honour of Matt Cook. A Silent Auction is run throughout the 24 hours and it all culminates in a banquet where the silent auction closes, a small live auction and an opportunity to relax and thank all for being a part of this event.
