A five-time Maple Blues Award nominee, Edmonton-born, Toronto-based singer/songwriter Samantha Martin plays what she calls “roots ‘n’ roll.” Martin anchors her rich, raspy vocals into a soulful combination of gospel and delta blues. With current group Delta Sugar, Martin has settled upon a soul meets blues meets gospel hybrid in which that voice is the key instrument.
