Please join Heather Sweet, MLA at her third annual job fair right here in the north east! This event will feature employers from several sectors of our economy. This job fair will be complimented by free presentations by various Alberta business leaders. Iron and Earth was created during the spring of 2015 when oil prices started to fall and was founded as a platform to engage in renewable energy development issues, and to empower their membership to advocate for an energy future we can be proud of creating. Their membership has since grown to include workers from a variety of industrial trades, including boilermakers, electricians, pipe fitters, ironworkers, and labourers. 11:00 am – Alberta Forest Products Association (Work Wild): Work Wild is a campaign that reaches out to people who are making one of the most important choices in their lives — finding a career they love. In response to a labour shortage in Alberta’s forest sector, Work Wild was launched in 2011 to educate Albertans about the variety of careers available. In this presentation, you will learn about sustainable forest management and a wide range of career opportunities in environmental sciences, skilled trades, engineering, equipment operation, general labour, and more. 11:30 am – EPCOR Canada: Job seekers are encouraged to come learn about EPCOR, their careers and opportunities and the hiring process. There will be child-minding services on site but space is limited.
