The Bath and District Lions Club, the Amherstview Lions Club and the Odessa and Area Lions Club along with personnel from the Napanee OPP detachment are preparing to help kids cast a line during their annual Family Fishing Day.
The event will take place on Sunday August 13th, from 9 am to noon on the shores of the United Empire Loyalist Heritage Centre and Park, 54 Adolphustown Road, Adolphustown, Ontario. ( Highway # 33 on the way to the Picton ferry )
This event is open to all Boys and Girls 16 years and under. The young anglers are asked to bring rods and reels, if available, we will attempt to supply them if required, and a parent or guardian.
There will be prizes for everyone as well as a free lunch for all provided by Bath and District Lions Club.

The Family Fishing Day is sponsored by Burke Printing, Napanee – Millhaven Restaurant and Grocery, Millhaven – Conway Salvage, Conway – Napanee Rod and Gun Club and Napanee Canadian Tire, Napanee – Fast Freddies, Schells Grocery, and Bath Pharmacy, Bath.
It is also supported by the Police Association of Ontario, Bob Izumi’s Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire, According to Bob Izumi, there is nothing that puts a smile on a kid’s face faster than catching a fish.
“That’s why I love to create opportunities for children and families to go fishing,” states Izumi. “Fishing is one of the very best ways for parents and other adults to establish productive and healthy relationships with children. Police officers spend their entire careers protecting children. This program is a perfect way for kids to learn that these dedicated men and women care about them as individuals.”
