TGLL is an annual networking event, now in its eleventh year, organized by the Vancouver Branch of the United Nations Association in Canada (UNAC) in collaboration with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU). TGLL connects 140+ recently graduated students with practitioners from up to 20 non-profit socially active organizations having an international or Canadian focus. The goal of TGLL is to allow Vancouver youth to learn from the experiences of leaders in the nont-for-profit, public and UN sectors, as well as to discover Canadian or international career opportunities in non-profit organizations as well as the UN’s international scope. Keynote speakers are drawn from a wide range of notable Canadian social activists. This year’s keynote speaker is Ms. Leilani Farha, Global Director of “The Shift,” a Canadian non-profit advocating for housing as a human right. Ms Farha was also UN Special Rapporteur on Housing as a human right, from 2014-2021. Previous TGLL participating NGOs and international organizations: Amnesty International, UN Association in Canada, Asia Pacific Foundation, Canadian Red Cross, Immigrant Services Society of BC. Oceanwise, RCMP.
