On October 24th at 7:30 PM, the Lower Mainland Music Student Association (LMMSA) and the Vancouver Young Pianist Club (VYPC) will present the “Pass It On” charity concert featuring Young Steinway Artist Paul Wang at the VSO in downtown Vancouver. Through this heartwarming evening of music, guests will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of music while also offering support to local healthcare. Paul is the founder/president of the LMMSA and serves as the co-president of the VYPC, fostering students’ musical growth through organizing various community events and charity concerts, using music to give back to society and spread kindness. As a North Vancouver resident, Paul’s support for the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation began when he successfully held his first charity solo concert at the age of nine. After becoming a piano teacher of RCM, he has continued to donate a portion of his teaching income each month to support the foundation and community healthcare. This ongoing act of generosity showcases his sense of social responsibility as a musician and has become a vital part of his musical journey. As Paul nears high school graduation, he is once again using his musical talents to support the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation by raising funds for their current [Cancer Care] project. The funds will help the hospital expand its cancer care center, which hasn’t been updated in over 20 years, doubling the treatment space and adding more medical equipment and technologies necessary for cancer patients. Through this meaningful musical evening, Paul hopes to pass on love and hope to more patients in need, providing hope for the growing number of cancer patients in the community. Paul has performed with renowned orchestras worldwide, winning national and international accolades, including the Canadian Music Competition and the 2019 Seattle Young Artists Music Festival, the first place at the Music International Grand Prix and the Outstanding Young Artist Award from GOCAA, the 2-Prizes winner at the International Junior Orléans Piano Competition in France. In 2024, he claimed Winner of the US Chopin NW Grand Prix, awarded the opportunity to perform with the TMC Symphony Orchestra in June 2024. At this concert, Paul will perform classic works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Canadian contemporary composers. We sincerely invite you to join us for an evening filled with music and love, supporting Paul and cancer patients as love and melody shine on stage.
