Scale Model Fest

Members of the Vancouver Chapter of the International Plastic Modellers Society (IPMS) invite the public to attend Scale Model Fest 2024, the 52nd annual IPMS Vancouver plastic model show, competition and swap meet. Featuring hundreds and hundreds of artfully detailed and intricate submissions created by plastic, resin, 3-D printed and wooden modelling enthusiasts from Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest, the annual IPMS Vancouver event is a visual showcase of the very best in West Coast scale modelling. (The 2023 show saw over 500 entries!) Submission categories for judging include aircraft, armour, cars, motorcycles and trucks, dinosaurs, dioramas, figures, Gundam, nautical vessels and space and science fiction. In addition, there is a youth category to encourage interest in the hobby. Modellers of all abilities are encouraged to display the work in a non-adjudicated display. Complementing the modelling displays, Scale Model Fest features multiple vendor rooms filled with new and out-of-production kits, tools and publications. Draw prizes, donated by local and national hobby stores, local businesses and IPMS Vancouver, are given out each hour of the show.
