Join one of Edmonton’s great winter celebrations! The Flying Canoë Volant is a creative, interactive, and cultural event that celebrates local history and everything that is great about a long winter’s night. Loosely based on the legend of the Flying Canoe, and on French-Canadian, First Nation, and Métis traditions, the Flying Canoë Volant invites you for a nighttime adventure in Edmonton’s French Quarter and along the illuminated trails of the Mill Creek Ravine. Discover the world class illuminated works of local artists, their many outdoor and indoor stages such as the Flying Canoë Volant Cabaret, la Scène franco, School of Song Cabaret and Café Croissant, Café Bicyclette’s Winter Patio featuring local DJ’s and both local and national musical talents. ATB Financial will be onsite hosting an interactive origami canoe activity which includes decorating the surrounding trees with the finished pieces! Come grab a photo in front of a custom canoe photowall, take in the light installations and enter to win ATB’s Powering Possibility Pot which consists of a $2,500 prize for the winner, and $2,500 towards one of four Treaty 6 Indigenous charities. Hop in the canoe and join us for a unique Edmonton winter adventure. https://www.flyingcanoevolant.ca/
