Art Exhibit: ELEMENTS (Greg Hardy) and A SURVEY IN TEN SCULPTURES (Doug Bentham)

GREG HARDY – October 28th through December 6th.  Opening Reception: Saturday, Oct. 28th, 2:00pm – 4:00pm.  Over his decades-long career, Greg Hardy has built a reputation as the pre-eminent painter of the prairie sky.  Regarded as one of the top landscape painters of his generation, his work has been shown in both commercial galleries and public museums for over 40 years and collected extensively by individuals, corporations, and institutions.  Featuring brand new works by this celebrated Canadian artist, the exhibition highlights why Greg Hardy is one of Saskatchewan’s most recognized painters.

DOUG BENTHAM – October 28th through December 6th.  Opening Reception: Saturday, Oct. 28th, 2:00pm – 4:00pm.  Also opening on Oct. 28th, Art Placement is honoured to present this concise survey exhibition of signature works by the renowned Saskatoon-based sculptor, Douglas Bentham, his first at the gallery in almost a decade.  Bentham has maintained an international reputation as a major practitioner of abstract, constructivist sculpture for over 50 years.  ‘He is one of the country’s most prolific sculptors,’ writes art critic Terry Fenton, ‘one of its finest, one of Canada’s first sculptors in every sense.’  Bentham creates his unique objects in scales ranging from monumental pieces to works that can be held in the hand.  He has exhibited nationally and internationally, and his works can be found in many private, corporate, and public collections across Canada.
