Shantideva’s Way of the Bodhisattva Retreatushok continues his commentary on Shantideva’s landmark text on cultivating the altruistic heart that works for the benefit of all beings day and night, The Way of the Bodhisattva. This teaching begins at Verse 4 in Chapter 7. Chapter 7 describes Joyous Effort which means having the courage to persevere no matter what obstacles arise. When challenges arise we pay special attention to applying the teachings in order to overcome our afflictive emotions.
