Linda Olsen has deep ties in Calgary as one of the city’s longest serving and most respected journalists. The Spotlight Hour with Linda Olsen dives in on the people, places, things and stories that make Calgary so special.

Linda Olsen was born and raised in Calgary and is a graduate (with honours) from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. She’s best known for her time at Global News Calgary from 1995 until 2024. Before Global Calgary she worked at Global Saskatoon and CTV Calgary as a reporter and news anchor.
Her highly decorated TV career included numerous individual awards and two team awards for Canada’s Best Newscast issued by the RTDNA. She was also a part of the team that won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Live News Special as part of the Global network’s coverage of Alberta’s 2023 provincial election.
Olsen is also a big supporter of local charities and has been a part of hundreds of charitable events over her time in media.
