Kathryn Mannie

Kathryn is a reporter for Global News’ Lifestyle team. She got her start in journalism at the University of Toronto where she was a Managing Editor for The Varsity. She then went on to work as a content editor for The Globe & Mail’s programming team, and acted as an advisor and fellow at The Green Line, a Toronto-based media start-up.
Outside of Global, she contributes to the RepresentASIAN Project as an assistant social media editor. As a mixed-race Chinese Canadian, Kathryn is passionate about telling the stories of the East Asian diaspora.
Originally from Vancouver, Kathryn moved to Toronto five years ago and counts herself lucky to call both cities her home. In her free time, Kathryn spends her hours cooking for loved ones, attempting to eat her way through Toronto and playing chess.
