Derek Heraldo
Multimedia Producer
Derek is a digital media storyteller specializing in video and graphic design. He began his career working as a writer for a local music magazine. In 2010, he enrolled in the New Media Journalism Program at Sheridan College where he learned the basics of video editing. It was there that he found a new approach on how to effectively tell stories in the modern world.
After graduating, Derek launched his career working as a junior editor for a media department that specialized in making corporate videos. That’s when he began to develop his motion graphics skills. Derek eventually became the head of the department and after working in that role for two years, chose to find something in the music industry once again.
In 2015, Derek became a content designer for Metalworks Studios as well as doing freelance work whenever he could. After a year, he became a full-time freelancer and was travelling across Canada and the U.S. producing videos.
During his free time, Derek enjoys playing guitar and watching baseball. He also likes to spend his weekends filming and editing personal projects to keep his skills sharp.
