With the area being hit by a late-spring heat wave, the the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is warning residents that 'hot cars can kill!'

"I've got the window down and cracked like you normally would -- I can see the breeze, trees are moving but I'm already beading up with sweat, the air is heavy, it's almost thick," Redford can be heard saying in the video.

The B.C. government is vying to do more to protect animals left in hot cars by their owners.
