EDMONTON – A high concentration of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops are what help make Whyte Avenue one of the best streets in the country, according to a Canadian travel website.
Vacay.ca has released a list ranking the 20 best streets in Canada for travellers looking to spend their trip exploring their surroundings on foot.
It describes the popular strip as “Edmonton’s official party headquarters.”
“But this isn’t just a street for night owls, there’s lots of daytime fun for young people and families,” the report writes. It then goes on to list some of the area’s attractions, plus top picks for where to eat, drink, and shop.
Calgary’s bustling 17th Avenue, also known as the Red Mile, made the list too. It came in 13th – one spot below Whyte Avenue.
The travel site chose Rue du Petit-Champlain in Quebec City as the top street for tourists to stroll.
It is followed by Saint Laurent Boulevard in Montreal and Argyle Street in Halifax.
