9 iconic balloons from the 2013 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Snoopy, Spider-Man and the rest of the iconic balloons soared along with the crowd’s spirits Thursday as the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade made its way through the streets of New York City.

There were fears that extreme winds would ground the balloons but officials decided Thursday morning that the winds were calm enough for the 16 giant character balloons to lift off.
